Radio Drive – A Taste Of Heaven from Black Winter on Vimeo.

We all assume that when we leave this remarkable planet we are going to heaven but until that day comes we all find our peace in things that are apart of our journey. As music lovers we sometimes find our “Taste Of Heaven” within our favorite songs. Kevin Gullickson, of Radio Drive, found that taste of heaven when he laid eyes on the love of his life years ago and eventually put the words and melodies in the bands single “A Taste Of Heaven” . From the opening chords of the song one would have to be frozen on the other side of the moon to not feel the passion behind his joy. The song displays a culmination of the bands early influences (most notably U2) as well as fill the void of where some of those bands may have left off.
The single which was originally released in 2014, was produced by reknown producer Chris Garcia (Britney Spears, Christina Aguilera, Celion Dion), will be re-released via resurging original indie label Crownn Records/Crownn Sounds on July 4th, 2017.
Just like most worthy things that exist in this world, its amazing how we sometimes forget that good music takes time. The re-release of “A Taste Of Heaven” could also mean that time caught up with Kevin. The song was after all about the love of his life and he has been a taken man for sometime which could only mean that the previous release in 2014 was really a taste of heaven from a well perserved bottle of music wine.
“We knew Kevin and crew had released the record a few years ago but for whatever reason the promotion behind the record wasn’t complete. Amazingly enough, there is still alot of life in the single based on the world-wide support and reception the song keeps garnering. We are lucky to be apart of Kevin’s progress in this now fickle industry and estatic to be apart of the radio friendly single.”- James Lane-Crownn Sounds- 2017
To support Mr. Lanes statement, the single is backed by melodies that suits all genres and it wouldn’t be a major surprise if there are territorial DJ’s that are remixing the song to suit their perspective live venues. The single as sweet as it sounds, may be considered a subliminal attack on todays selfie singer/songwriters who should get a thumb out and concentrate on melodies first prior to proclaiming to write a song.
The timeless lyrics within the single; “Hair of brown and eyes of blue, the first time I laid eyes on you, it was a taste of heaven”, may read as a corny verse, but it clearly certifies Kevins as a brand ambassador for quality love songs.
The bold time and reputation management investment between both parties (Crownn and Radio Drive), to re-release a single in 2017 shows the confidence that both parties have in good music that still sells. A Taste Of Heaven will be available on all formats (CD and Vinyl) as of July 4th, 2017. Radio Drive are expected to promote the single by a lengthy tour of Europe starting in September 2017.
