Within Volume 11 of the Worthwhile Journal Magazine, we had the unique honour of interviewing a relevant story. In doing so we thought it would be fitting to introduce a particular individual that is highlighted in the film section.

The independent world today, whether it is music or film due to the access of instant technology has forgotten what it takes to make authentic art. By definition, our art means creativity with a purpose of expression to be shared.

This is Sammie Lei, a UK-based film actress and the co-founder of Sammie Lei Productions. The dynamic production company is dedicated to supporting aspiring actors and providing opportunities for newcomers to gain experience.

From 2017 to 2020, Sammie worked on the Roofied films, the most successful of which is Roofied: The Lethal Dose, available on Amazon.

“These films tackled serious and pressing social issues, further cementing her reputation as a filmmaker unafraid to explore difficult topics,” stated Sammie in April 2025

Roofied provided a platform for actors to showcase their talents while addressing the dangers and realities of drug-facilitated crimes and sex trafficking in the UK. The impact of these films resonated with audiences, adding to Sammie’s mission of creating meaningful cinema that raises awareness.
