Hello Everyone,

Here is another lesson I wish I had been introduced to in my youth studies. Due to attending a strict boarding school, we were punished if we were not paying attention. I was accused of being “away with the ferries in school” during those formative years. These days, the public refers to those lack of attention spans as “symptoms of autism”.However, we used to refer to those days as “boring school”. I had a problem paying attention if something did not interest me.

My initial post is below. Many thanks in advance for reading.

How does neuropsychology assess problems with attention, memory, or language in learning?

The test, which neuropsychologists use as assessments, helps understand the cause of your issues with thinking and understanding one’s brain and behaviour (Professional, 2024).

Regarding attention problems, the test measurements are for the ability to focus or concentrate on the task presented. (reading, listening to instructions or directions drawn on maps or diagrams). With memory problems, incorporate what we hear or read and see processed in the brain for reassurance (memory). Last but not least,  Language discrepancies. The test or assessments determine the problem or solve the ability to understand what others are saying and to respond accurately by expressing oneself properly.

For example, how are things in the environment, such as faces and places, represented in the brain?

The various lopes within the brain help us remember and focus on what we view or remember in particular subject matters. To validate the statement, it has been written to target our attention to objects, such as faces (How The Brain Pays Attention to Faces and Places, 2015).

How is this applied to learning?

Technically or from a biological medical standpoint, the key points of the brain, cerebrum, cerebellum, and brainstem store the components of learning (How The Brain Pays Attention to Faces and Places, 2015).

If we are capable or interested in certain subjects or educational attributes, a part of our brain focuses on what we want to process. If we do not have an interest in subjects or details, we can still learn from what we do not want to know about based on the repetition cycle. Yet, we still remember and learn from that experience.

Thanks for reading.
